Nebraska's Gas Prices on the Rise, Still Down from Last Year
A recent survey has shown that average retail gasoline prices across Nebraska have risen 10.1 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.17 per gallon on Sunday, accordingto GasBuddy's daily survey of 1,150 gas outlets in Nebraska.
The price is lower than the national average of $3.26 per gallon, which increased only 0.7 cents over the last week, according to GasBuddy.com.
However Nebraska's gases prices on Sunday were still 11 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago. and 3.4 cents per gallon lower than one month ago.
"While gasoline prices have seemingly remainedvirtually unchanged in many areas across the U.S. in the last week, that hasmeant that some areas are still seeing prices remain much lower than a yearago," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
"Gasoline prices in the Rockies generally remain under their year agolevels, with the lowest price in the country in Laramie, Wyoming, wheregasoline has plunged to $2.35 per gallon. The national average now lags prices oneyear ago by 9-cents per gallon, which is a more optimistic start to the yearthan I would have expected," DeHaan said.
