The Department of Labor unemployment report shows that Nebraska's preliminary unemployment rate for March stayed unchanged at 3.8 percent. This matches the revised rates for the three previous months.
March's rate is two-tenths of a point lower than in March 2012 and half that of the national rate for March, which sits at 7.6 percent.
The Micropolitan Statistical Areas for the Tri-Cities show a dip in March's unemployment rate compared to February. Grand Island dropped down to a 3.6 percent rate compared to February's 3.9 percent.
Hastings is sitting at a 3.7 percent unemployment rate for March, down from 3.9 percent in February. Kearney is doing even better with a 3.1 percent.
