Nina Harrelson started at NTV as Executive Producer of Digital Media/Reporter in May 2011, and quickly moved to full-time Reporter/Fill-In Anchor. She was promoted to Weekend Anchor in January 2013, and still oversees the website and social media as the Executive Producer of Digital Media.
Nina was born in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Marshall County Central High in Newfolden, Minn., and then attended Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wis., where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Public Relations.
Nina started in the news business as a reporter for the Marian University Sabre newspaper, where she later became the co-editor with NTV Anchor and Assistant News Director, Andrea Hay.
During college, Nina was a news reporting intern at CBS 58 in Milwaukee, Wis., where she covered court cases and crimes, including a mass murder-suicide of 6 people.
Before coming to NTV, she was the editor of the Waushara Argus newspaper in Wautoma, Wisconsin.
Nina's passion for news started during her childhood; she always loved writing and telling stories. Her natural curiosity led her to this career. She says she even has a bit of an obsession with the news and can't even go camping without her smartphone so she can stay on top of what's going on.
Nina is a mother to 8-year-old daughter Neysa. She also enjoys singing, theatre, camping and karaoke. She once wanted to pursue a career in musical theater, but ultimately felt like journalism was a better fit.
She is happy to stay in the Midwest and be close to her family and friends in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
