Norfolk Man Arrested in Arson Case

A Norfolk man has been arrested for allegedly trying to set a Norfolk house on fire.

Cory Dittman, 40, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree arson. Police were called late Saturday by a woman who said Dittman was pouring gasoline inside the home.

The woman was able to escape out the window with the help of officers on the scene. Not long after she escaped a fire was seen burning in the home.

Officials say Dittman, who was inside the house, was taken into custody and taken to a hospital. He was later booked in the Madison County jail.
