      North Platte Man Sentenced for Child Porn

      A North Platte man will serve seven years behind bars for receiving and distributing child pornography.

      Jason Bielicki was sentenced Monday by United States District Judge John Gerrard to seven years in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release.

      The sentence comes after Bielicki entered a guilty plea for one count of receipt and distribution of child pornography.

      An investigator with the North Platte Police Department began investigating the case in July 2011. The investigator determined that Bielicki's computer was being used to share child pornography through the Internet.

      Bielickiinitially told officers that he was downloading items to report to others but then admittedto viewing, possessing, and sharing images and videos of child pornography.

      Over 2,100 items from the computer and other storage media were sent to the National Center for Missingand Exploited Children for identification.

      Theinvestigation was conducted by the North Platte Police Departmentand the Department of Homeland Security - Homeland Security Investigations.
