NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) -- A North Platte school principal who was the subject of an investigation has resigned.
Washington Elementary principal Shane Alexander was put on paid administrative leave on Jan. 14. The school board accepted his resignation at a special board meeting on Tuesday.
Alexander had been Washington's principal since fall 2011. He was principal at Eisenhower Elementary for three years before moving to the job at Washington Elementary.
District personnel director Tami Eshleman declined to comment on the resignation or investigation, saying it's a confidential employment matter.
