NPPD Grows Beards and Raises Funds for Family

We're well into spring and it's certainly not No-Shave-November, but that didn't stop staff and officers of the North Platte Police Department from ditching the razor.

The event began several months back in an effort to raise money in support of baby Zoie and her parents, Matt and Kellie Whyte, along with her twin brother Jaxson. The money raised is going towards helping the Whyte family pay for baby Zoie's medical expenses. She is still hospitalized out of town.

The following officers grew out their facial hair in support of the family: Levi Gibbs won fullest beard; Brandon Myers was awarded for the softest; John Pettit kept his the best groomed; Gary Smith had the grayest scruff; and Roger Freeze kept his the best cropped.

The beards were impressive but not as much as the $450 that they raised for Zoie and her family.
