      NPPD to Hold Public Meetings Regarding Future Energy Resources

      Nebraska Public Power District is inviting the public to attend any of the four meetings being hosted to discuss a new Integrated Resource Plan.

      The IRP provides an analysis of the types of energy resources NPPD may be looking to in order to meet future electricity needs.

      Completed in five-yearintervals, the IRP is an economic planning tool, meant to help NPPD maintain prices and services in the future.

      In order to plan for the forecasted needs of NPPD customers, the IRP identifies, under present and foreseeable conditions, the preferred mix ofpower generation resources (including renewable energy like wind power) andenergy efficiency programs.

      The public is encouraged to attend any of the meetings, which will be held:

      • Feb. 5,4-7 p.m., Gering Civic Center, 1050 M Street, Gering;
      • Feb. 7,4-7 p.m., Quality Inn & Suites Sandhills Convention Center, 2102 S.Jeffers St., North Platte;
      • Feb. 18,4-7 p.m., Divots Conference Center, 4200 W. Norfolk Ave., Norfolk;
      • Feb. 19,4-7 p.m., Holiday Inn, Hwy 81 / 4619 S. Lincoln Ave., York
