An Oakdale man accused of driving a vehicle through his backyard and injuring four children has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.
Stephen Barrington, 43, pleaded guilty Wednesday to four counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of driving under the influence after prosecutors agreed to drop two other charges.
Authorities in Antelope County said Barrington drove his SUV through his home's backyard, hitting a tent with five children nearby. Four of the children had to be treated at the hospital. Antelope County Sheriff Bob Moore said Barrington was arguing with his wife before the incident.
Sentencing has been set for Sept. 3.
