Law enforcement officers were called to Kearney High School Wednesday, where they had to use a taser to gain control of a student.
KHS officials say the incident occurred during a study hall class in the school's cafeteria. All of the students had to be moved from the class and taken to a safe area in the building due to the student's conduct toward directives from the school staff, according to school officials.
After officers gained control of the student, he or she was removed, cared for and is in a safe location.
School officials say they will continue to take all necessary steps to assure a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.
