The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly crash that shut off power for hundreds of people in Kearney Friday morning. Authorities say three vehicles were involved in the accident around 7 a.m.

Two pickups collided at the intersection of 56th and Antelope Avenue and then struck another car stopped at the intersection.

A 29-year-old man from Gibbon driving one of the pickups was killed in the crash after being thrown from the vehicle.

The Sheriff's Office isn't releasing his name until his next of kin are notified.

Scott Frauen, 54, and Nathan Finley, 25, were driving the other vehicles involved in the crash. Both are from Kearney.

Nebraska Public Power District says one of the cars hit a power pole at the intersection leaving many in the area without power until later that afternoon.
