Ord Couple Nominated for 'Angels in Adoption' Award

James and Sandy Psota, of Ord, have been nominated by Sen. Ben Nelson for the annual Angels in Adoption program.

The Angels in Adoption Program is sponsored by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption and provides members of congress the opportunity to honor a family that has made an extraordinary contribution on behalf of children in need of homes.

"James and Sandy Psota earned this nomination because of their adoptions of two brothers," said Sen. Nelson. "They adopted their first foster child, Robert, on April 19, 2010 and his brother David on April 18, 2011."

"James and Sandy never hesitated in their desire to adopt Robert despite the biological family history of mental illness and developmental delays," said Sen. Nelson. "The children will undoubtedly benefit by being adopted into this loving and unselfish family.

The Psotas made an open contract with the biological mother that they will continue to honor as long as it remains in Robert's best interest.

James is a self employed farmer and Sandy is employed by the city of Burwell, Nebraska.
