Rock climbing, shooting sports and archery were just a few of the activities the Nebraska Game and Parks Department wanted to showcase in an effort to get more people outdoors.
Organizers say they were encouraged by the many families and new faces they saw at Saturday's event..
"We saw a lot of kids that caught a fish for the first time, shot an arrow for the first time, maybe were in the kayak for the first time," said outdoor educator Julia Plugge. "That is what we want, they'll take that next level and do it again."
Officials say they're already planning for next year's event.
