Lexington – An Overton man has been arrested after he allegedly attempted to meet up with a minor in order to have sex.

The Nebraska State Patrol and the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Paul Tegeler, 67, in Lexington early Saturday morning on charges related to the electronic enticement of a minor.

The arrest comes after a 10-day investigation into Tegeler by the Nebraska and Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children task forces. During the investigation, police reported that Tegeler engaged in sexual electronic communication with an investigator posing as an underage female. Authorities say he arranged a meeting for the purpose of having sex with the fictional minor.

During a search of Tegeler’s Overton home, police seized computers, other electronic devices and evidence.

He was arrested without incident and lodged in the Dawson County Jail on charges of sexual assault by use of an electronic communication device, enticement by electronic communication device and attempted manufacturer of child pornography.
