Peter Draper Found Guilty in Child's Death
Peter Draper has been found guilty in connection to the death of his two-year-old grandson.
After five days of testimony, the jury received the case Friday afternoon. They took only 40 minutes to reach a verdict, finding Draper guilty on both charges he was on trial for.
The autopsy found the child died of blunt force trauma to the head, abdomen, and extremities.
The boy's mother said he was repeatedly abused by Draper.
Draper was convicted of intentional child abuse resulting in death, and intentional child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.
The state called it a case of anger and rage, that Draper needed to control things, but they said he could not control his rage.
Peter Draper showed no emotion as the verdict was read, and he was quickly escorted from the courtroom.
Sentencing is set for August 1 in Franklin County. The trial was held in Adams County.
