Phelps County Photography Contest Underway


Holdrege – The Phelps County Visitors Committee has announced its new Phenomenal Phelps County Photography Contest open during the month of May.

Photos taken of people or places in Phelps County by amateur photographers are eligible. The pictures will be placed on area websites and on Facebook.

Contest chair Jane Tonjes commented, "PCVC thinks this is a fun way to share great things about Phelps County with each other and with the world." PCVC's purpose is to promote tourism in the county.

Prizes of $50 will be awarded quarterly in Youth, age 13-18, and Adult, age 19 and up, categories. Photographers may enter photos in the contest in each of the four seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. There is no limit on how many photos may be entered.

The first judging will be at the end of May, so photographers are encouraged to submit entries right away. The next judging period will June, July and August.
