Pilots Forced to Manually Lower Landing Gear for North Platte Landing
Emergency crews were dispatched to Lee Bird Field Sunday after an incoming plane had trouble with the landing gear.
The North Platte 911 Center received the emergency call around 2:20 p.m. that a Great Lakes Beach Craft 1900 was unable to land because of a problem with the landing gear.
The plane carrying 17 passengers was able to circle the airfield while emergency crews made their way to the airport.
The pilots managed to manually lower the landing gear and make a safe landing.
By 3 p.m. the passengers were off the plane with no injuries reported.
