Currently, there is only one volunteer, but general manager Marshall Nelson says he would like to see high school and college students help out though a possible internship program.
“We are a nationally known facility, well known for our exhibits, for what we do here. This certainly would enhance any resume I would think,” said Nelson.
The museum says the internships would prepare students for many different careers, such as working as a mechanic on classic cars to working as a historian to those who want to be teachers one day.
Pioneer Village says they had very successful Memorial Day weekend. Nelson believes the consistent gas prices in central Nebraska have helped their numbers this year.
