Police attempt to sort out an assault where the apparent victim is an elected official in Hall County, but there may be more to the story.
Grand Island police were called to the home of Hall County Board member Dave Ziola this weekend.
Police said Ziola and his wife are in the process of getting a divorce, and believe the incident stemmed from marital problems.
Police say there were no witnesses and conflicting stories. They made no arrests, but referred the case to the Hall County Attorney.
Ziola's wife could face charges for use of a weapon and domestic assault. However, Ziola could face charges as well.
When reached by NTV, Ziola said it was no big deal.
The case remains under investigation.
Ziola has served on the board since 2010 and is currently unopposed in his re-election bid.
