Poor Firearm Safety Cause of Accidental Shooting


Poor firearm safety has been determinedas the cause of an accidental shooting in Gosper County.

The Gosper County Sheriff's Office wasinformed shortly before noon on Monday that 22-year-old Eric Fisher of McCookwas being treated for a gun-shot wound at Cambridge Hospital.

Fisher was sitting on an ATV in apasture while a relative sat on another ATV holding a loaded 243 rifle. The gunaccidentally went off and Fisher was hit.

Fisher was transported to Good SamaritanHospital shortly thereafter.

Authorities say a person should nevercarry a loaded firearm on a recreational vehicle.
