As power districts across the state work on cleaning up after Monday night's storm, they encourage the public to keep a distance from downed power lines and stay safe.
Southern Power District crews have been working on a mile stretch of poles damaged by the storm north of Funk, along the Funk-Odessa Road. They urge the public to avoid the area for their own safety and that of the crews.
Individual poles across central Nebraska have been damaged which could create hazardous areas nearby. Power District officials say to report downed lines and keep away as they may still be energized.
