A car struck a pole shutting off the lights for many Kearney residents Friday morning.

Over 900 residents were in the dark after the incident around 7 a.m.

NPPD spokesman Mark Becker says crews have been at the scene since 7:30 a.m. but were unable to do any repair work while police were investigating the car accident in the area of 56th Street and Antelope in northeast Kearney.

Power was restored to some Kearney residents beginning around 11 a.m. and was back for all Kearney residents around 4:15 p.m.
