      Public Hearing to be Held for District Judge Vacancy

      A public hearing is being held Feb. 25 to hear information about the candidates looking to fill the office of District Judge for the 7th Judicial District.

      The district consists of Antelope, Cuming, Knox, Madison, Pierce, Stanton and Wayne Counties. The primary office for the seat left vacant after the retirement of the Honorable Robert Ensz will be either in Madison or Wayne.

      The public is welcome to attend the hearing and present information concerning candidates for the judicial opening. The hearing will be held at 1 p.m. in district courtroom number four at the Madison County Courthouse, 1313 N. Main St. in Madison.

      Individuals interested in applying for the position can obtain a Judicial Vacancy Application package from the Nebraska Judicial Branch website. Completed applications may be submitted electronically or by hard copy and must be returned no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2013.
