Public meetings have been planned to receive input concerning the motorized access available for the McKelvie National Forest and the Bessey Ranger District.
The U.S. Forest Service has release plans to improve motorized access in these two areas for all users. Comments on the proposal will be accepted for 30 days following the date of publication of the legal notice in the North Platte Telegraph.
The project is expected to be implemented in February of 2014 with the publication of a new Motor Vehicle Use Map.
"We areexcited to begin this process of responding to comments and requests we'vereceived over the last several years. The project is aimed at improvingmotorized access in several areas of Bessey and McKelvie for generalrecreation, hunting and fishing," said Tim Buskirk, Bessey District Ranger. "Weplan to hold several public meetings so folks can learn more about proposedchanges, review maps and share their thoughts."
