Ravenna to Acquire New Fire Truck
The city ofRavenna is planning to buy a new fire truck to replace the city's current, unsafe truck with money from a USDA Rural Development grant.
The $37,000 grant will be added to $212,500 from the city for the purchase.
"We are verypleased to receive this grant. It will help us to better serve thecommunity and surrounding area," said Ravenna Mayor Peg Dethlefs.
Roberta Mues, community programs specialist with USDA Rural Development, said the new fire truck will help keep the city's firefighters safe. She said, "Fires are verydangerous. Time is essential thus having a top functioning vehicle isvital."
