The wet start to the corn plantingseason may reduce the amount each acre produces this year but farmers are stilllikely to bring in a record crop.
In a report released today Friday, theU.S. Department of Agriculture estimated farmers would bring in 14 billionbushels of corn this season.
This is one-billion more than theprevious record set in 2009.
Farmers are planting more than 97-millionacres of corn this year. This means even an average yield would result in arecord crop.
