After a blood shortage last month, American Red Cross officials say Nebraskans have answered the call for help.

However, AB donors are still needed. And they say that although their stock is looking better now, they always need donors.

"Every two seconds somebody in the United States will need some kind of blood product, so we are doing a blood drive to help continue to keep up with the need," said Lisa Gallentine, Red Cross donor recruitment.

Organizers say crowds were steady at Saturday's drive, held in conjunction with the Iron Horse Bike Show in Grand Island.

The Red Cross blames the weather last month for February's shortage.
