Renters Sift Through Storage Units After Weekend Flooding

Many people sifting through memories as a result of last weekend's flooding.

One business especially hard hit was the Kearney Drive–in Self Storage. Nearly every unit was affected. In some units, water reached 15- to 20-inches high.

Many renters are trying to pick up the emotional pieces.

"I'm out, I don't know how many thousands of dollars here, personal items, valuable items, family memories, and nothing can replace that." said renter Becky Allvine.

Buffalo County Emergency Manager Darrin Lewis says most of the rain fell in under an hour, and also caused floor drains in many homes in eastern and central Kearney to back up.
