Authorities on scene say a mother and daughter were traveling westbound between Loomis and Bertrand about 9:40 a.m. Saturday, when a tire dropped off the pavement and sank into mud on the shoulder.
Authorities say the driver, Jennifer Fritson, of Axtell, overcorrected, crossed the road, flipped, and ended up in a cornfield. Fritson was ejected, while her passenger, Sara Wood remained in the car. Authorities say Fritson was not wearing a seat belt.
Both were transported to Phelps County Memorial Hospital. Fritson was then life-flighted to Good Samaritan Hospital.
