Rowe Sanctuary to Celebrate Ten Years in Center
In celebration of the Rowe Sanctuary's 10 years at the Iain Nicolson Audubon Center, the center is holding an open house for the public on Saturday, April 6 from 12-5 p.m.
A ribbon cutting for the recently constructed education deck is also planned for 4 p.m.
The sanctuary is currently busy serving as a staging area for sandhill cranes, waterfowl and many other migrating birds. The goal of the sanctuary is to work year round on conservation efforts around the Platte River so birds and other wildlife can continue to depend on it.
Rowe Sanctuary is located at 44450 Elm Island Road along the Platte River near the Gibbon exit along Interstate 80. The Center is open year-round and features hand-on nature education programs for children and adults. For more information or to volunteer, please visit rowe.audubon.org or call 308-468-5282.
