Rural Hall County residents can rest easy, as the county reaches an agreement to continue Grand Island city ambulance service.
Hall County Board Member Bob McFarland tells NTV that Hall County has agreed to an offer from the Grand Island Fire Department.
While the county was negotiating, McFarland said they spoke with a couple of private ambulance providers.
Some rural residents were concerned they wouldn't get the same level of paramedic service that the Grand Island Fire Department provides.
The deal with the fire department will continue though, so residents outside city limits can call 911 and still receive the level of care they're used to.
McFarland said the contract should be formally approved by county board members later this month.
