One Clay Center teacher's ability to help struggling students pays off in more ways than one.

It's not a singing telegram, more like a 'Thank You' for a job well done.

Sandy Creek Elementary's Darcie Boman is this month's Outstanding Teacher award winner. She was nominated by Samantha Janda, who loves how Mrs. Boman always has art projects and has helped her come to love math.

Mrs. Boman says that's the best thing about being a teacher.

"I think the relationships you build with kids, helping that one kid like Samantha who hated math when she started with me, and now loves it, it's her favorite subject. I don't know, just the relationships with kids."

Mrs. Boman and her class will receive lunch from Runza as part of her prize for being NTV's Teacher of the Month.

Congratulations to Darcie Boman from Sandy Creek Elementary School in Clay Center for being November's Outstanding Teacher.
