Scottsbluff Woman Accused of Stealing from Own Mother
A Scottsbluff woman faces charges of theft and abuse of a vulnerable adult related to an incident involving her own mother.
Jeanette Ralston is accused of withdrawing more than $12,000 from her mother's bank account over a six-month period. She was arraigned in Scotts Bluff County Court Monday.
Records show Ralston was arrested after a caseworker with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services contacted authorities notifying them Ralston didn't pay her mother's bill from a nursing home where she was recovering from a fall.
The arrest warrant affidavit says Ralston was her mother's power of attorney.
Ralston remained in custody on Tuesday.
