Second Teen Charged in Death of Western Nebraska Jail Guard

A second teenage inmate has been charged in the death of a jail guard who authorities say was strangled at the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center Friday.

Amanda Baker, 24, died Sunday at Regional West Medical Center after doctors had declared her brain dead.

A 16-year-old Lisco boy has been charged as an adult with aiding and abetting assault, according to Scotts Bluff County Attorney Doug Warner.

A 15-year-old Torrington, Wyo. boy has previously been charged with murder in Baker's death. The teen has been held at the jail since December on charges of robbing a convenience store in Mitchell, Neb.
