Senate Plans to Revisit Minimum Wage Hike Proposal

This week, the U.S. Senate is set to revisit a stalled proposal to raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $10 hour. President Obama and congressional Democrats plan to push the issue on the campaign trail ahead of the November mid-term elections.

In the meantime, many states have already made moves to raise their own minimum wages.

Twenty-one states and the District of Columbia already have higher wages and that number should soon grow. Maryland, Minnesota, Delaware and West Virginia have recently approved minimum wage increases.

Nebraska's lawmakers rejected a wage increase earlier this year.
