April 20 through 26 is ServeNebraska Week, an annual event aimed at promoting volunteerism across the state.
Nebraskans will get a chance to participate in the week-long service effort by registering their volunteer activity at www.serve.nebraska.gov. Individuals and groups are encouraged to participate.
"Volunteerism in our state is one thing that sets Nebraska apart. Nebraskans are quick to step up to help others," said first lady Sally Ganem, honorary chair for ServeNebraska.
The week of service is aimed at providing residents with an opportunity to show their volunteer spirit while benefiting whole communities, including schools, nonprofits, churches, parks and more.
