A few small libraries across Nebraska have been given grants to help improve their services and facilities.

Libraries in Albion, Hildreth, Mitchell, Osmond, Valley, Walthill and Wausa were awarded grants from the Kreutz Bennett Donor-Advised Fund, through the Nebraska Community Fund.

A committee composed of nieces and nephews of the late Shirley Kreutz Bennett, of Lincoln, accepts proposals for matching grants for public libraries in communities with populations of less than 3,000 residents.

The grants require a certain level of matching funds. About $70,000 is available each year.
