State Fair Visitors Fill Main Parking Lots

Police are urging visitors to slow down and obey traffic directions as the Nebraska State Fair enters its busiest weekend.

Crowds filled the main parking lot Saturday.

With no more room, Grand Island police shut down the Locust Street entrance for about four hours, starting at 12:30 p.m.

Instead, traffic was directed to the east parking lot on Stuhr Road.

Officers were sent to Fonner Park Road and Pleasant View Drive to direct traffic.
