You won't need a secret password to get into Stuhr Museum's new "Pub Night" event, filled with "illicit games of chance," drinks that have stood the test of time and an atmosphere you'll find nowhere else. The event runs from 6 – 9 p.m. on Friday, January 25th. After the popularity of this event in 2012, Stuhr was glad to come back for a second round. You'll enter the Stuhr Building to live music and have your choice of games staffed by the Grand Island Sertoma Club who will keep the cards coming. From there you can grab a historic beer or mixed drink and sample games, either playing one for the whole event or bouncing around from table to table.
-Roulette (period rules)
-Blackjack (period rules)
-1890?s Rules Poker
During the evening, you will also have the chance to sample current versions of beers popular during the 1890?s as well as mixed drinks made from old-fashioned recipes such as the Tom Collins or the Slow Gin Fizz. There will be non-alcoholic drinks and "bar snacks" as well.
This is a 21+ event, admission is $8 for nonmembers and $6 for members. For more information contact the Stuhr Museum.
