Tabletop Containers

Createa living centerpiece using plants suited to small containers, the growing conditionsand of course your décor.

Allyou need are three matching saucers of increasingly larger sizes, two smallpots, outdoor plastic glue, a well-drained potting mix and small scale flowers.

Drillholes in the bottom of the saucers for drainage. I purchased an extra one to protect my tablefrom the water.

Gluethe pots onto the saucers and allow to dry. Partially fill the saucers with potting mix leaving room for yourplants. Set the plants in the soilmaking sure all the roots are covered.

Iam using sweet alyssum for the fragrance and a dwarf impatiens for additionalcolor. Plus, both will grow well in thepartially shaded area where this will be used.

Elevatein a protective saucer, water and enjoy.

RutgersUniversity found flowers have an immediate and long term effect on mood. People receiving cut flowers immediately felthappier. They also reported feeling lessdepressed, anxious, and agitated and experienced more enjoyment andsatisfaction over time.
