Three Car Crash at Busy GI Intersection Sends Family to Hospital

A three car wreck at one of Grand Island's busiest intersections sent three to the hospital Friday afternoon.

Families embraced at the corner of Webb Road and Highway 30 following the collision, around 4:30 Friday.

Police were still sorting on the scene, but a witness told NTV a silver car in the west ditch had been speeding, and forced another car into a pickup.

The truck was smoking when our crew arrived.

Two kids and their mom, who appeared to be pregnant, went to the hospital with minor injuries.

Firefighters said they got a scare at an accident earlier Friday in Grand Island, when a car struck a display of propane tanks outside Walgreens on Second Street.

Fortunately, firefighters said it did not cause an explosion or fire.
