A fire four miles east of Pleasanton destroyed 10 acres of pasture Sunday.

Assistant Fire Chief Chad Dixon said crews were called shortly after 3:00 p.m.

After calling in Amherst and Mason City departments for mutual aid, Dixon said they got the fire under control in about an hour.

He said crews left the scene about 7:00 p.m.

Crews were also called to a fire near Shelton around 5:00 p.m.

Shelton Fire called Wood River and Gibbon departments for mutual aid.

The fire burned wild land near the Platte River between Shelton Road and Highway 11.

Crews have left the scene, but we're still waiting on information from officials.
