Tornado that Hit Coleridge Tuesday Evening Rated an EF-2


The National Weather Service says the tornado that damaged part of Coleridge in northeast Nebraska Tuesday evening was rated an EF-2 and approximately two miles wide.

One home was destroyed by the tornado and several others reported lesser damage, according the the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency.

The agency says the tornado injured one person, who has since been treated and released.

Weather service staff are in the Coleridge area to assess the storm and determine the length of the tornado's path.

Coleridge sits about 35 miles north of Pilger, which was heavily damaged by a tornado the day before. Two people were killed in that tornado.
