Huge trucks and massive equipment-that's the focus on Saturday's 2nd annual Touch-a-Truck event. It's all about teaching children to be safe around this equipment.
Organizers say it's a way for kids to learn about the various occupations keeping Kearney running.
"I think it's important for children to learn there is a large variety of vehicles and lots of different occupations that help build our town and help keep us safe,"said event coordinator Jennifer Beck. "And so this is a great event for them to be able to meet these drivers and see first hand the vehicles they use and learn how to be safe in the vehicles and around them."
Over 20 vehicles and 25 businesses and organizations participated. Plans are already being made for next year.
