The case of a mother and son charged with killing a 68-year-old southern Nebraska woman has been moved from Webster County to Adams County.

A Webster County judge on Tuesday ordered the change of venue for 41-year-old Shelley Casterline and 23-year-old Andrew Casterline, both of Guide Rock.

The pair has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges in the stabbing death of Virginia Barone. Barone was found in her Guide Rockhome on Oct. 5 with more than 20 stab wounds.

The Casterlines were arrested the following day in Iowa, after being accused of mugging a woman in a parking lot.

Court filings say Shelley Casterline wanted her trial moved because the Webster County Courthouse doesn't have adequate facilities to accommodate jurors, witnesses and lawyers for a trial on first-degree murder.

Both Casterlines face burglary and weapons charges as well.
