During the “You Drink & Drive You Lose” campaign, a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Seward County led to the seizure of over 60 pounds of marijuana and two arrests.
Authorities say that just before 3:30 p.m., on Saturday, August 30, a trooper stopped an eastbound 2014 Chevy Malibu for following too close and improper lane change. The stop was made on I-80, two miles east of the Milford exit in Seward County.
The Nebraska State Patrol says the trooper was given consent to search the vehicle. The search led to the seizure of 66.2 lbs. of marijuana.
The driver of the vehicle, 41-year-old Frank Hector Suarez, and a passenger in the vehicle, 22-year-old Crystal M. Gibbons, both of Tucson, Ariz., were lodged in the Seward County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
