Two California Men Arrested on Drug Charges After Crashing Car into Deer
A bad day got a lot worse for two California men Saturday when they were arrested for possessing marijuana after crashing into a deer with their car along Interstate 80.
The driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old Justin Bigon, and his passenger, 32-year-old James Brisco, both of Santa Rosa, Calif., were taken to the Lincoln County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, a trooper was responding to a report on the crash just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday near the Sutherland exit on eastbound I-80.
The trooper arrived to check out the scene and asked to search the car after smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The agency said no drugs were found in the 2013 Chevy Impala.
However, two duffle bags holding about 20 pounds of marijuana were found lying in the grass about 10 feet from the car.
