Around 4 a.m. Friday, the Roseland Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to an abandoned home and field that had caught fire about a mile south of Roseland. Shortly after multiple aid units from Ayr and Bladen were called for reinforcement.

Around the same time the Holstein Volunteer Fire Department was also called to a fire just west of Holstein on Highway 74.

Officials say both fires were contained by about 6 a.m., but they have yet to determine the cause of either fire.
