Two Ukrainian Men Plead Not Guilty to Cybercrime Charges


Lincoln - TwoUkrainian men have pleaded not guilty in federal court to charges related to amajor cybercrime operation.

Themen are suspected of involvement in an operation that used computer malware tosteal millions of dollars.

TheU.S. Department of Justice said Friday that 31-year-old Yuriy Konovalenko and36-year-old Yevhen Kulibaba are among nine people charged by a federal grandjury in August 2012 with racketeering activity, conspiracy to commit computerfraud, identity theft and other counts.

Theindictments were unsealed Friday in U.S. District Court in Lincoln.

TheJustice Department said Konovalenko and Kulibaba were recently extradited fromthe United Kingdom. The men entered their pleas Friday afternoon and anotherhearing was set for June 2.

Accordingto officials, victims included one Nebraska bank along with others in at leastfour other states: Kentucky, Iowa, Illinois and Massachusetts.
