Sometimes you don't have to travel overseas to learn about different cultures.
About 100 Japanese students attend school at UNK, and show pride in their traditional culture through music, dance, and food at their annual Japanese festival.
In doing so, they're hoping to make a connection with the Kearney community.
"One thing we are focusing on is food. We spent a lot of time making real Japanese food," said Japanese Association president Takumi Nozoru. "The ingredients are all what you can get from this town, Kearney, so if you like it you can cook at your house our food."
The Japanese Association has been on campus for 13 years.
